The Horry County Police Department has experienced a tremendous amount of growth over the recent past, which has presented an equal amount of challenges that are necessary to improve the overall operations of the department. We constantly strive to achieve the highest standards of service to the public in a professional manner. Deputy Chief Beaty began his career in law enforcement in 1985. He has previously served with the Myrtle Beach Police Department and the Horry County Sheriff’s Office. He was appointed to the position of Deputy Chief in 2006. He resides in the Socastee community and is married with 3 children.
