Precinct Commander: Captain Maurice Jones

Captain Jones is a native of Horry County and has worked for the Horry County Police Department his entire career starting in April 1984. Captain Jones has served as a Detention Officer, a Uniform Patrolman, a Detective, Sergeant of Detectives, Lieutenant of Detectives, Captain of Detectives and Support Services Division Commander. Captain Jones is currently the West Precinct  Commander.

        Precinct Deputy Commander: Lieutenant Ronnie Elliot

Lt. Elliott was born and raised in Horry County and lives in the Cedar Creek Community of Horry County. He has been in Law Enforcement since 1983 working for the Horry County Police Department. Lt. Elliott served as a Patrol Officer for four years (1983-1987) and was promoted to Sergeant in the Uniform Patrol Division serving in this capacity for ten years (1987-1997). In 1997 Lt. Elliott was promoted to Lieutenant supervising a shift of ten officers. As the department grew Lt. Elliott’s position as Lieutenant was changed to Watch Commander and became an administrative position involving more interaction with the citizens and their complaints in all aspects of the departmental services. Lt. Elliott currently serves as the West Precinct Deputy Commander and supervises the daily operations of the Uniform Patrol Officers in the West Precinct. Lt. Elliott is married with four children and attends Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
